Laura Vandervoort

In 1997, she had her acting debut when she was thirteen. When she was 13, after attending several classes and doing background work for Canadian programs like Road to Avonlea and Harriet the Spy and Harriet the Spy, she was offered her first role as a speaker in the Canadian children's horror series Goosebumps and Are You Scared of the Dark?, both series were broadcast in 1997 on YTV. The show was followed by commercials as well as the guest-starring role in Mutant X, Prom Queen: The Marc Hall Story, Goosebumps, Twice in a Lifetime, Doc, Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye, Troubled Waters, The Dresden Files, along with a handful of Disney Channel Original films (Mom's Got A Date with a Vampire and Alley Cats Strike), aged 19, at York University, where she studied Psychology and English,[1] Vandervoort was offered the lead role of Sadie Harrison in the CTV Teen Drama series Instant Star that ran for four seasons. Then, in 2006 Vandervoort played her debut movie, The Lookout alongside Jeff Daniels, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Matthew Goode along with Isla Fisher. Vandervoort was cast in Smallville the serial drama for The CW. Her character in the show is that of Clark Kent's Kryptonian "Kara Kent" she is the girl that will eventually transform into Supergirl. In episodes seven and eight came as a regular in the series, "Bloodline". 3] In the 10th season and final episode of Smallville, she returned to the show for two further episodes. Vandervoort filmed the sequel film to Into the Blue, titled Into the Blue 2 - The Reef. The Jazzman is her third independent project.
